«Abil» Selected as Kazakhstan’s Entry for the 2027 Academy Awards

Director Elzat Eskendir’s film «Abil» has been selected to represent Kazakhstan at the 2027 Academy Awards («Oscars») in the category of Best International Feature Film.
The project «Abil» was implemented by Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm National Film Studio JSC commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the State Center for Support of National Cinema.
The film’s selection as Kazakhstan’s entry for the Academy Awards marks an important event for the country’s film industry. It provides an opportunity to present Kazakh cinema to an international audience and showcase the national film industry on the global stage.
